Where Is the 'Lost' Cast Now? A Look at the Stars' Lives 15 Years After the Show Ended (Including Who Has Reunited Since!) (2025)

NEED TO KNOW

  • Lost premiered in 2004 and ran for six seasons
  • The series finale — which featured a major plot twist — aired 15 years ago on May 23, 2010
  • Most of the show's cast have gone on to star in other major projects, while a few have left Hollywood behind

It’s been 15 years since Lost wrapped up on May 23, 2010, with a series finale that remains one of television's most emotional (and polarizing) endings. But its stars still feel that it ended at the right time.

"It didn't go on longer than it should have," Juliet actress Elizabeth Mitchelltold Entertainment Tonight in July 2021. "It ended way quicker than I think most of us wished that it had, me included ... but I think it had its own little bit of perfection with the way that it did."

Premiering on ABC on Sept. 22, 2004, the sci-fi drama followed the survivors of the Oceanic Airlines Flight 815 after it crashed into a mysterious island that held secrets almost as dark as their own. With a standout cast that included Mitchell, Matthew Fox, Josh Holloway and Evangeline Lilly, the show didn’t just keep viewers hooked. It launched a wave of serialized, character-driven storytelling.

Though Lost has been over for years, old fans are still watching the show's six seasons, and thanks to streaming, new fans are discovering it for the first time on Netflix.

So where is the cast of Lost now? Here's everything to know about the stars' careers and lives since the show ended.

Matthew Fox as Jack Shephard

Fox's role as Dr. Jack Shephard, the group's tortured leader, was his TV comeback after playing Charlie Salinger on Party of Five.

After Lost, he appeared in films like 2012's Alex Cross and 2013's World War Z. Following some personal setbacks, Fox took a break from the spotlight. He returned to the small screen on the Peacock series Last Light, which premiered in 2022.

In an October 2023 interview with The Telegraph, Fox shared how he feels about fans of Lost wondering where he'd been during his break from acting.

"I am very comfortable with that. If I could continue to work on projects that I love, with great people, and still have that question pop up, it’d be pretty cool," he said.

He and his wife Margherita Ronchi share two children, Kyle and Byron.

Lilly announced that she would be "stepping away" from Hollywood in June 2024 in a post on Instagram.

"Stepping away from what seems like the obvious choice (wealth and fame) can feel scary at times, but stepping into your dharma replaces the fear with fulfillment," she explained in her caption. "I might return to Hollywood one day, but, for now, this is where I belong."

She and her longtime partner Norman Kali have two children.

"While we were shooting, I remember sitting down with Damon Lindelof and J.J. Abrams and saying, 'Guys, this character cannot progress in this same way,' " he said. "They basically said, 'Trust us.' I did, and it turned out for the best."

He continued, "As an Asian actor, you're just looking to get hired. It's about working within the system to try and change it when you have the opportunity ... The character grew to a place where I don't think you'd call him a stereotype by the end."

Ian Somerhalder played original castaway Boone Carlyle, but he was — spoiler alert! — killed off on season 2 (although typical of Lost, he made a few more appearances on the show).

Luckily, his character's death did little to hinder his career. Somerhalder later starred on the HBO series Tell Me You Love Me, but it was his role as Damon Salvatore on The Vampire Diaries that cemented his pop culture status. He also starred on the short-lived Netflix series V Wars.

He retired from acting to live on a farm with his family, and told E! News in January 2024, "I love what I did for a really long time. Ilove making films, I just did it for so long. We had an amazing run."
